Tabaud COVID-19 KSA: The Official Contact Tracing App in Saudi Arabia
Tabaud COVID-19 KSA is a free contact tracing application developed by the National Information Center (NIC) of the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) in collaboration with the Ministry of Health (MoH) in Saudi Arabia. It is designed to help combat and contain the COVID-19 pandemic through the use of the Apple/Google Exposure Notification API.
The app provides users with three main services. Firstly, it notifies users if they have come into contact with others who have been confirmed to be infected with the coronavirus. Secondly, it provides users with help by sending their health forms to the MoH to provide them with necessary medical support according to their case's status and progress. Thirdly, it enables those who have been confirmed to be infected with the coronavirus to voluntarily share their test results with people they have been in contact with during the past 14 days.
The app respects user privacy and does not require any information or location sharing as it relies on Bluetooth technology to gather and refresh IDs randomly. However, users who want to start the medical procedure of testing for coronavirus must provide main information such as their name, National or Residence ID number, and date of birth, as required by the MoH regulations.
